William A. "Sonny" Hoffman was a professional baseball player. He played in two games for the 1879 Cleveland Blues.He also liked horse racing and made a lot of big bets. After his playing career Hoffman got married and moved to Chicago. It is suspected that he either got divorced or died in between the late 1890s and the early 1900s because of marriage and Us census records.
