Soergelia Explained
Soergelia is a genus of extinct ovibovine caprine that was common across Europe, North America and Asia in the Pleistocene epoch.[1]
Species include:
- Soergelia brigittae
- Soergelia minor . Found in Italy.
- Soergelia intermedia . Found in Macedonia.
- Soergelia elisabethae
- Soergelia mayfieldi Found in Texas.
Palaeoecology
δ13C, δ15N, and δ18O measurements from S. minor at the Early Pleistocene site of Venta Micena in southeastern Spain reveal it to have been a mixed feeder.[2]
