Smolniki is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Rutka-Tartak, within Suwałki County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Lithuania.[1] It lies approximately 12km (07miles) south of Wiżajny, 230NaN0 north of Suwałki, and 1320NaN0 north of the regional capital Białystok.
Until 31 December 2009 it was a part of gmina Wiżajny.
