Smithson Valley is an unincorporated community in Comal County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 15 in 2000. It is located within the Greater San Antonio area.

Geography

Smithson Valley is located on Farm to Market Road 311, 15miles northwest of New Braunfels in central Comal County.

Climate

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Smithson Valley has a humid subtropical climate.[1]

Education

The first school in Smithson Valley was built in 1875. As of 2007, it had a highschool with over 2,500 students. It is also zoned for Bill Brown Elementary School.
