Sindora glabra explained

Sindora glabra is a tree of the family Fabaceae (or Leguminosae)^[1] endemic to the People's Republic of China that grows in the provinces of Hainan, Fujian, Guangdong and Yunnan.^[2] The species is under second-class national protection in China.^[3]

Habitat and description

The species is found growing in mixed forests, on mountain slopes and along riverbanks between sea level and 800m (2,600feet). It grows to 8mto20mm (26feetto70feetm) tall and has a trunk diameter of 8cmto20cmcm (03inchesto10inchescm).^[2]

Sindora glabra produces good quality wood used for building houses and making furniture.^[2]
