Sindh Government Press Football Club serves as the football section of the provincial Government of Sindh. It is based in Karachi, Pakistan.

History

The team first competed as West Pakistan Government Press, later being renamed as Sindh Government Press around 1962.[1]

Sindh Government Press debuted in the 1979 Inter-Departmental Championship (now PFF National Challenge Cup), the first ever edition of the Pakistan National Challenge Cup which they won after defeating Muslim Commercial Bank.[2] In the 1989 National Football Championship, they finished runner-up next to Pakistan Airlines.[3]

In the 2004–05 PFF National League in the "Southern" group. They ended up at fourth place out of seven. In the 2005–06 PFF National League, SGP were placed second in Group A . They reached the semi-finals, losing not only against Pakistan Railways, but also ending their promotion chance. They have played more than five editions of PFF League but still have not been promoted to Pakistan Premier League. In 2020, they played PFF League after six years, but still could not win promotion.
