Silver City, Christmas Island Explained

Silver City is a settlement within the village of Flying Fish Cove in Christmas Island, Australia. In the population there are Chinese, European[1] and a minority of Malays. The settlement was founded in the 1970s, and the houses were built with aluminum and other metals with the intention of being able to withstand cyclones.[2] In the settlement there are large houses built in the contemporary Australian style.[1]
