Sidney Swift Explained

Sidney Swift
Birth Date:4 October 1988
Origin:Miami, Florida

Sidney Swift is an alleged American crypto scammer, self proclaimed-entrepreneur and inventor. He is the founder and CEO of failed entertainment technology company Defient and leads Rolling Stone Magazine's web3 culture council.

Swift started his career in 2010 as a songwriter and since has written and/or produced songs performed by Nicki Minaj,[1] Panic! At The Disco, Lil Wayne, Beyoncé, Big Sean, Future, Nelly, and more. He allegedly contributed as a writer to Billboard hits such as Beyoncé's "7/11", Jason Derulo's "Don't Wanna Go Home”, Gucci Mane's “Make Love”, Nicki Minaj's “Changed It”, DJ Khaled's “Welcome to My Hood” and Major Lazer's "Light It Up".

In 2017, in partnership with Atlantic Records, Swift developed the avatar artist known as Chillpill. The project was an early example of what is now known as metaverse performances. Chillpill has released songs with Rico Nasty, Sueco, BBNO$ with one song being nominated for 2018 Grammy award (Note that Swift himself was not nominated). However since his rise in 2018 Chillpill has been taken down by Swift as it was linked to one of his alleged NFT scams.

In 2020 Swift founded Defient[2], at the time, an entertainment technology company specializing creator tools, music video games, motion capture live streaming shows, audio plug-ins, alleged NFT scams projects, and never delivered mobile metaverse ownership, customization, and accessibility. However, since 2023 this company is no longer active. In 2021 he was granted a US Patent[3] for inventing a synchronized streaming technology used in music and television to deliver a second layer content experience on top of traditional media. But later in 2023, Swift decided to ruggpull his two NFT projects (ChillRx[4] and Cre8ors[5]), allegedly making off with millions in crypto gains, ghosting his communities[6] [7] and not delivering on the promises made by him or the project. Following this, his communities rallied together to sue for their damages, with the litigation pending.
