Show Me Your Voice is a French television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It premiered on M6 on 22 April 2021,[1] [2] and has been aired for two seasons.
Presented with a group of nine "mystery singers", a guest artist and a group of two contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of several rounds. At the end of a game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.
The contestants must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving a designated cash value based on the most bad singer eliminations. At the end of a game, the contestants may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to win by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad.
s2: The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else. At the conclusion of performances, the contestants eliminate one mystery singer from each group.
s1–2: Divided into multiple batches of mystery singers, each of them have to perform a lip sync of their own.
s1–2: The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.
s1–2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers of their choice.
s1: The guest artist and contestants must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.
s2: The guest artist and contestants are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.
s1–2: The guest artist and contestants may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.
Shine Group has initially made interest to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in France, as per earlier report from Toute la Télé in September 2015.[3] After a six-year hiatus, Groupe M6 has formally acquired the rights in February 2021,[4] including with production duties assigned by Warner Bros. International Television Production.[5]
Filming of the show took place at Studio 128 in Saint-Denis, Paris.[6] During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has filmed under implementing health and safety protocols.[7]
Show Me Your Voice debuted as a two-night pilot premiere that occasionally aired on 22 April and 13 May 2021.[1] [2] As per tweet by journalist in April 2024,[8] the series has formally announced to return after a three-year hiatus[9] with a second season that premiered on 8 July 2024, but it was prematurely ended a week later.
