Shidian County is under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Baoshan, in the west of Yunnan province, China. Its seat is the town of Dianyang (Chinese: 甸阳镇).

Ethnic groups

According to the Shidian County Gazetteer (1997:544), ethnic Bulang (autonyms Wu Chinese: 乌, Aiwu Chinese: 埃乌, Ben people Chinese: 本族) are found in Mulaoyuan Township (Chinese: 木老元乡) and Bailang Township (Chinese: 摆榔乡); in the villages of Hazhai (Chinese: 哈寨),^{[2] [3]} Upper Mulaoyuan (Chinese: 上木老元), Lower Mulaoyuan (Chinese: 下木老元),^[4] Dazhong (Chinese: 大中),^{[5] [6]} and Jianshan (Chinese: 尖山);^[7] and in Dazhai (Chinese: 大寨),^[8] Doupo Village (Chinese: 陡坡村), town of Yaoguan (Chinese: 姚关镇).
