Shahanjarin (Persian: شاهنجرین) is a city in, and the capital of, Shahanjarin District of Dargazin County, Hamadan province, Iran.[2]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, Shahanjarin's population was 2,224 in 558 households, when it was a village in Darjazin-e Olya Rural District of the former Qorveh-e Darjazin District of Razan County.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 2,362 people in 677 households.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,584 people in 597 households.[5]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Dargazin County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Qorveh-e Dargazin as its capital. The rural district was transferred to the new Shahanjarin District.[2] After the census, the village was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
