Savar (bn|সাভার) is a city in central Bangladesh, located in the Dhaka District in the division of Dhaka. It is the closest city from Dhaka. It is also a part of the Greater Dhaka conurbation which forms the Dhaka megacity. About 380,000 people live here which makes this city the second most populous in the district and the 13th largest in Bangladesh.
Savar city is located at 23.85°N 90.26°W in the central region of Bangladesh.
According to the 2011 Bangladesh census Savar Paurashava had 75,902 households and a population of 296,851, of which 157,018 are males and 139,833 are females with a density of . 52,614 (17.72%) were under 10 years of age. Savar has a literacy rate of 74.86% and a sex ratio of 891 females per 1000 males.[1] In 2022, Savar has a population of 384,093 and had a literacy rate of 86.00%.[2]
