Sarasău (Hungarian: Szarvaszó) is a commune in Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Sarasău.
The commune lies on the left bank of the river Tisza, on the border with Ukraine, across from Solotvyno; the river Sarasău flows into the Tisza in the village. Sarasău is located in the northern part of the county, northwest of Sighetu Marmației and north of the county seat, Baia Mare. It is traversed by national road, which runs from Oradea to Sighetu Marmației.
At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 2,433, of which 89.15% were Romanians and 2.22% Roma.[1]
