Samed Baždar (pronounced as /sr/; born 31 January 2004) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Segunda División club Real Zaragoza. Born in Serbia, he plays for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
Baždar started his professional career at Partizan, before joining Real Zaragoza in 2024.
A former Serbian youth international, Baždar also made his senior international debut for Serbia, before switching his allegiance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024.
Baždar started playing football at local clubs, before joining Partizan's youth academy in 2018. In December 2020, he signed his first professional contract with the team.[2] He made his professional debut against Voždovac on 15 May 2021 at the age of 17.[3] On 9 July 2022, he scored his first professional goal in a triumph over Javor.[4]
In August, he signed a new four-year deal with the squad.[5]
In July 2024, Baždar was transferred to Spanish side Real Zaragoza for an undisclosed transfer fee.[6] He made his official debut for the club on 16 August against Cádiz.[7] On 21 September, he scored his first goal for Real Zaragoza against Levante, which secured the victory for his team.[8]
After representing the Serbia at various youth levels, Baždar made his senior international debut in a friendly game against Cyprus on 25 March 2024. However, in October, he decided that he would play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.[9]
In November, his request to change sports citizenship from Serbian to Bosnian was approved by FIFA.[10] Earlier that month, he received his first senior call-up, for 2024–25 UEFA Nations League games against Germany and the Netherlands.[11] He debuted against the former on 16 November.[12]
