Sagezabad (Persian: سِگزآباد) is a city in the Central District of Buin Zahra County, Qazvin province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Sagezabad Rural District.[2]

Demographics

Language

Sagezabad is a Tati-speaking city.[3] [4] [5] [6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 4,953 in 1,324 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 5,440 people in 1,578 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 5,492 people in 1,664 households.[9]

In literature

The 14th-century author Hamdallah Mustawfi listed Sagezabad as one of the main villages in the territory of Qazvin.[10]
