SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg is a football club from Papenburg in the district of Emsland, Lower Saxony, Germany. The club was formed on April 10, 1994, through the merger of the two clubs Germania Papenburg and Amisia Papenburg.
Germania Papenburg was founded on June 7, 1908, and achieved success in the late 1950s and 1960s, reaching the Amateuroberliga, the highest league in Lower Saxony at the time. However, the club experienced a decline in performance in the following years and eventually merged with Amisia Papenburg.
Amisia Papenburg, founded in 1909, also had its moments of success, including a stint in the Verbandsliga West, the second-highest division in Lower Saxony at the time. After the merger, SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg initially played in the Bezirksliga Weser-Ems, eventually earning promotion to the Landesliga Weser-Ems in 1999.
In the 2002/03 season, SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg achieved promotion to the Oberliga Niedersachsen, the fifth tier of German football. However, the club was unable to establish itself in the league and was relegated back to the Landesliga. Currently, SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg competes in the Landesliga Weser-Ems.
The team plays its home matches at the Parkstadion Obenende in Papenburg, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. The club has a local rivalry with FC Germania 95 Papenburg, a club founded by opponents of the merger between Germania Papenburg and Amisia Papenburg.
As of the 2022/23 season, SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg finished in 18th position in the Oberliga Niedersachsen and was relegated back to the Landesliga Weser-Ems.
