Rush River is a town in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 498 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Centerville and Palmer are located in the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 17.9 square miles (46.3 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 498 people, 171 households, and 149 families residing in the town. The population density was 27.9sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 173 housing units at an average density of 9.7sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the town was 96.79% White, 0.20% African American, 0.40% Native American, 1.20% Asian, and 1.41% from two or more races.
There were 171 households, out of which 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.3% were married couples living together, 2.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 12.3% were non-families. 10.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.10.
