Rosemary Campbell (born 1941) is a New Zealand artist and teacher.

Background

Campbell was born in Timaru, New Zealand, in 1941.^[1]

Campbell attended the Ilam School of Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury. In 1974 she received a Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council Scholarship to study at the French: [[École des Beaux-Arts]]|italic=no where she focused on lithography and etching.^[2]

Career

Landscape and music are the major themes in Campbell's work although she does a considerable number of commissioned portraits. Campbell works predominantly in watercolour, and in oils for her portraiture.

After completing her Fine Arts degree, Campbell returned to South Canterbury and has taught at the Timaru Girls' High School, Craighead Diocesan School, and Aoraki Polytechnic.

Works by Campbell are held at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu.^[3]

Campbell has exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts^{[4] [5]} and The Group^[6] in 1967,^[7] 1975,^[8] and 1976.^[9] In addition, her exhibitions have included:
