Roberto Vera Monroig (born January 28, 1948) is a Puerto Rican politician and the former mayor of Adjuntas. Vera is affiliated with the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) and served as mayor from 1997 until 2005.
Vera began his political career serving as member of the Municipal Assembly of Adjuntas. In 1996, he ran for mayor of the city, defeating incumbent Rigoberto Ramos Aquino. After that, Vera was reelected one more term (2000). He lost the election to PNP candidate Jaime Barlucea Maldonado in 2004.
In January 2008, Vera was convicted of lewd acts against a municipal official. The conviction was upheld on appeal in November 2009.[1]
