Robert J. Mislevy Explained

Robert J. Mislevy is an American academic and psychometrician. He is known for his contributions to the field of educational measurement and psychometrics and wrote Sociocognitive Foundations of Educational Measurement.[1] Mislevy has led the scholars who shaped the enormously influential Evidence Centered Design (ECD)[2] meta-framework that has inform the development effort of many large scale standardized assessments and gave rise the broader principled assessment design movement.

From 2011 to 2021, Mislevy was the Frederic M. Lord Chair in Measurement and Statistics at Educational Testing Service.[3] He is a member of the National Academy of Education,[3] and received awards from the National Council on Measurement in Education in 2003[4] and the Psychometric Society in 2022.[5]

Mislevy has edited and written many books in educational measurement and psychometrics including the Bayesian Psychometric Modeling.[6] "Bayesian networks in educational assessment",[7] and "Computational Psychometrics: New Methodologies for a New Generation of Digital Learning and Assessment".[8]
