Rasmus Hedegaard (born Rasmus Hedegård Sørensen, 25 July 1988), using the mononym Hedegaard (sometimes stylized as HEDEGAARD), is a Danish DJ and music producer and, in partnership with Spinnin' Records, the founder of the record label OneHundred.

He is signed to Copenhagen Records.[1] His management is TWTTW (Then We Take The World) with Lasse Siegismund and Kasper Færk.[2] [3] His official 2011 remix of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode" was his international breakthrough and has been heard more than 235 million times on YouTube.[4]

He is also known for his originals such as "Happy Home" feat. Lukas Graham, "Twerk It Like Miley" with Brandon Beal and Christopher, as well as "Jumanji" and "Beijing Baby" created in collaboration with CANCUN?

His own songs and the tracks streaming count on the Spotify platform in 2022 was over 54 million.

Career

Hedegaard is a musician and songwriter, and his music is a fusion of rap (hip-hop) and club music.[5] He started his career remixing tracks for Danish nightclubs and uploading them to YouTube. Including his unofficial remix of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's hit "The Next Episode", which made Hedegaard well known across Europe. The song has been played more than 100 million times on YouTube. He has also remixed 50 Cent, Macklemore, Basto, Ludacris, Stromae, Ed Sheeran, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Rihanna.[6]

Remixes like "The Next Episode", "Thrift Shop", "Move Bitch", "In Da Club", and "P.I.M.P" formed the basis for the sound that became characteristic of HEDEGAARD as a DJ and got him on the charts in several countries.[7]

. In 2012, HEDEGAARD helped produce and write the hit single “Better Than Yourself” for world star Lukas Graham. In 2014, HEDEGAARD collaborated again with Lukas Graham on the single "Happy Home", which later went platinum in several Scandinavian countries. The song was played heavily on the Danish radio station P3 and was put in A rotation on several other radio stations. On streaming and sale it was #1 for several weeks in Danmark and has now accumulated more than 38 million streams in total (July 2017). After performing on the Norwegian talk show "Senkveld med Thomas og Harald",[9] the song became #1 on the Norwegian iTunes and was certified 3× platinum on streaming in Norway.[10] In 2014 Hedegaard won an award as "Producer of the Year" for the hit "Happy Home" at Danish Music Awards 2014.[8] In 2015 he won another award for "Most Played Song Of The Year" at "Carl Prisen".[9]

Later in 2014, Hedegaard released “Twerk It Like Miley” featuring Brandon Beal and Christopher. The song has more than 56 million streams on Spotify and 158 million views on YouTube and it reached #1 in a couple of Asian countries. "Twerk It Like Miley" won 3 awards at Danish DeeJay Awards 2015[10] and is now 3× platinum in Denmark, platinum in Philippines, and gold in Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand.

The 2016, "Twerk It Like Miley" by Brandon Beal, produced by HEDEGAARD, has been streamed more than 147 million times on Spotify (including remix versions), and played more than 400 million times on YouTube.[11]

Hedegaard won the award as ”Producer of the Year” at Club Awards as well as the ”Audience Award” at Danish DeeJay Awards.[12] Subsequently, he won the prize for best Danish remix of the year at Danish DeeJay Awards 2017 for the remix of ”Slem Igen”.[13]

In 2017, the single ”That’s Me” was released and has since gained 40 million streams on Spotify.[14] The Australian singer and songwriter Hayley Warner sings the song and in the spring of 2017 they met up in LA and wrote the single “Go Back”.[15]

In 2019, he also released the single “Ready to Love You”, which has over 42 million listens on Spotify.[16] On the singles "JUMANJI" (in collaboration with CANCUN?) and "SA-MY-D" (in collaboration with Matt Hawk) from 2019, Hedegaard returned to the rap-club fusion sound he invented years ago, under the genre “car music” – music particularly suited for a large car stereo system.[17]

He released the single "ALL DESIGNER" in 2021 resulted in number 1 rankings in Southern Europe, the Baltics, and China - followed by the hit single “JEEP” by CANCUN? and HEDEGAARD, which entered the top 20 on QQ Music's EDM Chart in China.

In 2023, He entered into a partnership with Dutch Spinnin’ Records for the sublabel OneHundred.[18]

At the end of 2023, he was on his biggest tour to date, stretching from Jakarta, Bali, Indonesia, to the Creamfields festival in Guangzhou, China, and then on to Hawaii, where he began his first US Tour, which took him through cities including San Diego, Boston, Denver, and Sacramento.[19]

His management is Daylight Agency.[20]
