The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (Arabic: هيئة رأس الخيمة للمواص), commonly known as RAKTA, is the sole major independent government roads & transportation authority in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 2008 to improve transportation around the Emirate, it also serves public transport services, taxi services, school buses, marine transportation, freight transportation, commercial transportation, and various other transportation activities.

History

In 2008, RAKTA was formed in accordance with the Emiri Decree No. (1) of 2008 to improve, plan and develop transportation around the emirate.[1] [2] In 2019, ITC and RAKTA signed a MoU connecting both Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah by an intercity bus.[3]

International Bus

In 2019, RAKTA has launched an International service to Musandam connecting both Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam closer.[4]
