Raid 2 is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor.[1] [2] A sequel to Raid (2018), Raid 2 marks the return of IRS officer Amay Patnaik (Devgn), who tracks another white collar crime.
Like the previous film, the sequel is also based on the income-tax raid conducted by the officers of Income Tax Department who work with intelligence agencies to track white-collar crimes. Announced in April 2020 with pre-production commencing in August 2022, Raid 2 was shot in Mumbai, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi in the first half of 2024.[3] [4]
The film has been produced by T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, with Zee Studios handling the film distribution. Earlier planned to release in cinemas in late-2024, Raid 2 is now scheduled to release in 2025.
The new film focuses on IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white collar crime. [5]
Principal photography began on 6 January 2024 and took place in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.[6] The mahurat shot of the film was given by Telugu star Ravi Teja, who headlined the 2024 Telugu remake of Raid.[7] Primary filming wrapped up in April 2024, and patchwork was done by late-May 2024, bringing the film to post-production.[8] [9]
Raid 2 is now scheduled to release in theatres in 2025.[10]
