The systematic name of this enzyme class is ATP:pyridoxal 5'-phosphotransferase. Other names in common use include pyridoxal kinase (phosphorylating), pyridoxal 5-phosphate-kinase, pyridoxal phosphokinase, and pyridoxine kinase. This enzyme participates in vitamin B6 metabolism.
