Mompha terminella explained

Mompha terminella is a moth in the family Momphidae found in Europe and North America.

Description

The wingspan is 8–10 mm.[1] Adults are on wing from July to August in one generation per year.[2]

The larvae feed on small enchanter's nightshade (Circaea alpina) and enchanter's nightshade (Circaea lutetiana) mining the leaves of their host plant. Larvae can be found from mid-August to mid-September. They are whitish with a light brown head.[3]

Distribution

It is found from Fennoscandia to the Iberian Peninsula and from Ireland to Romania. It is also found in North America.[4]
