Princess Theatre (New York, 29th Street) explained

Princess Theatre was a Broadway theatre located at 29th Street and Broadway in Manhattan, New York City.[1]

Built as a billiard parlor, the theatre was first named San Francisco Minstrels Music Hall in 1875, where it presented minstrel shows.[2] After this, it was renamed several times, including Hermann's Gaiety Theatre, Jack's Theatre, Theatre Comique and Jonah Theatre.[3] In 1902, the Shuberts leased it and renamed it the Princess Theatre.[2]

The building was demolished and made into retail shops in 1907.[2] [3]
