Potamia (Greek, Modern (1453-);: Ποταμιά) is a former municipality in the Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Elassona, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 3,139 (2021). The municipal unit has an area of 200.279 km2.[2] The seat of the municipality was in Vlachogianni. The name of the municipality comes from the greek word "potamià" meaning "land with many rivers" (from potamòs, river).
