Postřižín is a municipality and village in Mělník District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 2,000 inhabitants.

Geography

Postřižín is located about 13km (08miles) north of Prague. It lies in an agricultural landscape, on the border between the Central Elbe Table and Prague Plateau. The highest point is at 274m (899feet) above sea level.

History

The first written mention of Postřižín is in a deed of Duke Bretislav I from 1052.[2]

Transport

The D8 motorway from Prague to Ústí nad Labem passes through the municipality.

Sights

There are no protected cultural monuments.[3] In the centre of Postřižín is a small chapel.
