Posey Township is one of eleven townships in Clay County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,016 (down from 4,063 at 2010[3]) and it contained 1,682 housing units.[4]
Posey Township was organized in 1828. It was named for Territorial Governor Thomas Posey.[5]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of, of which (or 98.01%) is land and (or 1.99%) is water.[3]
