Poronaysky District (Russian: Порона́йский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia; one of the seventeen in the oblast.[2] As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Poronaysky Urban Okrug.[3] It is located in the eastern central part of the Island of Sakhalin. The area of the district is 7280.2km2.[4] Its administrative center is the town of Poronaysk. Population (excluding the administrative center):
