Pira-Pirasong Paraiso (/ International Name: Broken Paradise) is a Philippine television romantic drama series broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and TV5. Directed by Raymund B. Ocampo and Roderick P. Lindayag, it stars Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, Alexa Ilacad and Elisse Joson. The series aired on Kapamilya Channel's Kapamilya Gold, Yes, Weekend! Saturday afternoon block and TV5's Hapon Champion and Weekend Trip Saturday afternoon block from July 25, 2023, to January 27, 2024.
A con artist takes on the job of pretending to be one of the long-lost sisters of a young and rich woman. As she navigates a world of cunning and lies, she learns about right and wrong, love and family, and spectacular truths about herself.[1]
To promote the series, the casts held a back-to-back caravan at Vista Mall in Bataan along with the cast of Nag-aapoy na Damdamin.[4] The official full trailer of the series was released on July 10, 2023.[5]
The show is co-produced respectively by ABS-CBN and TV5, but TV5 discontinued their blocktime simulcast agreement with It's Showtime on June 30, 2023 (which is also the date the agreement expired) (due to Tito Vic & Joey's departure from TAPE, Inc., which led to their TV5 transfer) and was eventually moved to GMA Network's sister channel GTV a day later before it expanded simulcast into AMBS' All TV (which is headed by Vista Mall's owner Manny Villar) and GMA Network's main channel nearly a years later,[6] [7] [8] [9] meaning that the cast of the new shows were not allowed to appear on the said show to promote them. As a result, they instead promoted both of these new afternoon teleseryes on Eat Bulaga! (then known by its interim title E.A.T.), TV5's new noontime show, which ironically was aired on ABS-CBN from 1989 to 1995.[10]
Pira-Pirasong Paraiso was produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and directed by Raymond B. Ocampo and Roderick P. Lindayag. And this is the first drama that collaboration with TV5 since Unbreak My Heart is the first drama that collaboration with GMA Network.
This show has been developed by Pasion de Amor, Doble Kara, Wildflower, Asintado, The Blood Sisters, Kadenang Ginto, Sandugo, Love Thy Woman, and Bagong Umaga, due its genre of family, multiple romance, and criminal drama lineup that produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, and RSB Drama Unit.
