Pimelodella Explained
Pimelodella is a genus of three-barbeled catfishes.
Pimelodella is the largest genus in the family. However, it is in need of taxonomic revision.
This genus is found on both sides of the Andes, ranging from Panama to Paraguay and southern Brazil.[1] With the exception of P. chagresi, all members of the genus are restricted to South America. This genus includes two species of troglobitic catfishes, P. kronei and P. spelaea.[1]
