Phaedranassa Explained

Phaedranassa is a genus of South American and Central American plants in Amaryllis family, subfamily Amaryllidoideae.[1] [2] [3]

Taxonomy

Publication

The genus Phaedranassa Herb. was published by William Herbert in 1845.

Type species

The type species is Phaedranassa chloracra Herb., a synonym of Phaedranassa dubia (Kunth) J.F.Macbr.[4]

Formerly included

Several names have been coined using the name Phaedranassa but referring to species now regarded as better suited in other genera (Eucrosia, Rauhia and Stenomesson).[6]
