Peter Bellinger Explained

Colonel Peter P. Bellinger (March 1726 – 26 March 1813) was the commander of the 4th Regiment, Tryon County militia under General Nicholas Herkimer.[1] Bellinger married Delia Herkimer, the sister of General Herkimer, in January 1750. He lived on a farm located in Herkimer, New York, just west of the Foley Place on German Street. He fought at the Battle of Oriskany on August 6, 1777. Bellinger died on March 26, 1813.
