Pavinsky District (Russian: Па́винский райо́н) is an administrative[2] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1600km2. Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Pavino. Population: 6,217 (2002 Census); The population of Pavino accounts for 55.3% of the district's total population.
