Patrick Hickey (born 2 July 1998) in Des Plaines, United States, is a professional American association footballer who currently plays for Galway United in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
Hickey played College soccer for his University side Illinois Wesleyan University, before moving to Spain to continue his studies where he signed for Spanish 5th division side CD Herbania, and then division rivals Villanueva CF shortly afterwards.[2]
Having completed his studies in Spain, he moved to Ireland and signed with Athlone Town A.F.C. in the League of Ireland First Division[1] ., whilst studying further at the Athlone Institute of Technology.[3] Hickey performed well during the 2023 season, racking up 37 appearances, with 2 goals and several assists[1]
He signed for Galway United ahead of the 2024 season, having completed his studies at Athlone AIT.[2]
