Parjanya[1] (Sanskrit: पार्जन्य, IAST:) also known as Parjanya Maharaja[2] or Parjanya[3] is one of the son of Yadava king Devamida[4] and the brother of Shurasena. He was also paternal grandfather of Krishna[5] and father of the Nanda.[6] [7]

According to Mahabharata and Puranas, he was born to second wife of king Devamida[4] [8] and was given the charge as chieftain of Mahavan (a region of Braj).[9] [10]
