Pak Thae-song (born 14 September 1955[1]) is a North Korean politician. He is a Vice Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and was the Chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly from 2019 to 2023.[2] [3] [4]
After serving as a member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, he became a candidate member of the party's politburo. In August 2012, he became vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.[5] In May 2014, he became the responsible secretary of the party committee in Pyongannam-do. As a key executive in the organizational leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, he is known as a key figure who actually moves the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. In 2021, he briefly disappeared from the official appearance of North Korea, and rumors of a purge were circulating. In January 2023, it was confirmed that he resigned as the chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly, and he is currently serving as a member of the political bureau of the Workers' Party of Korea and secretary of the secretariat.
