Preethi Padman Surasena is a Sri Lankan lawyer and a sitting puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. He was formerly a justice of the Court of Appeal of Sri Lanka, also serving as court president from 2018 to 2019.[1] [2] [3]
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Surasena earned his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Colombo. He then joined Sri Lanka Law College in 1985. He was admitted to the bar in 1989, and then joined the Attorney General's Department as a State Counsel.[4]
He was appointed as a judge of the High Court in 2007 and later became a judge of the Court of Appeal of Sri Lanka in 2016, serving as president of the court in 2018.[4]
He also chaired the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption.[4]
