Oxford FC is an association football club in Oxford, Canterbury, New Zealand. The Men's First team competes in Mainland Football's Senior Men's Division 1 and has previously climbed up the tiers in the last few years.
They competed in Division 10 in 2022, winning the league before regrading pushed them up to Division 8 half way through the season, winning both the leagues in the same season. In 2023, they competed in Division 4, again winning the league before regrading pushed them up to Division 3 half way through the season, where they won Division 3 as well. In 2024, they were meant to play in Division 2 but due to team entries they were pushed up to Division 1.[2]
The club is based at Pearsons Park and they have 5 junior and 2 senior teams. The men's first team participated in the Chatham Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournament for the first time in 2024, losing 13–1 to Waimakariri United. They also competed in the English Cup, Canterbury's knockout tournament for the first time as well, beating Southern League side FC Twenty 11 1–0 in the first round to advance to the quarter-finals.[3] [4] They met Canterbury Premiership League side Western, losing 5–2.
With the men's first team being in the community leagues, they are eligible to compete in the Mainland Charity Cups. In the 2024 Whero Cup, they bet Canterbury Premiership League side Cashmere Technical's Reserves 1–0 advancing to play Canterbury Championship League side Cashmere Technical's U20 Reserves in the Quarter Finals, losing 1–2.[5]
