Ophisurus macrorhynchos is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels).[1] It was described by Pieter Bleeker in 1853.[2] It is a marine, temperate water-dwelling eel which is known from the Indo-Western Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. Males can reach a maximum total length of 140cm (60inches), but more commonly reach a TL of 60cm (20inches).[1]
O. macrorhynchos is of commercial interest to fisheries.[1]
