Omari 'The Banger' Jones (; born November 7, 2002)^{[1] [2]} is an American boxer.^{[3] [4]} He competed at the 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships, winning the silver medal in the welterweight division.^[5] Omari competed for the United States in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, winning the bronze metal in the 71 kg Welterweight division.^[6]

Background

Omari Jones is from Orlando, FL. He grew up practicing multiple martial arts; starting with karate lessons at age 4, followed by boxing at age 8.^[7] Coached by his father, Karl Jones, Omari continues to train in Florida. He is currently a student at Valencia College in Orlando.^[8]
