Okrouhlá (de|Scheibenreuth) is a municipality and village in Cheb District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 200 inhabitants.
The village of Jesenice is an administrative part of Okrouhlá.
The name Okrouhlá literally means 'rounded'. It refers to the original shape of the village.[2]
Okrouhlá is located about 8km (05miles) east of Cheb and 31km (19miles) southwest of Karlovy Vary. It lies in a flat landscape in the Cheb Basin. The highest point is at 476m (1,562feet) above sea level. The municipality is situated on the right shore of the Jesenice Reservoir, built on the Wondreb river.
The first written mention of Okrouhlá is from 1447.[2]
The I/21 road, which connects the D5 and D6 motorways, passes through the municipality.
The main landmark is the Okrouhlá Castle. It was built as a Gothic fortress at the beginning of the 14th century. At the end of the 19th century, it was rebuilt into a romantic manor house.[3]
