Nonoka Ozaki (born 23 March 2003) Japanese freestyle wrestler. She is a bronze medalist at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. She is a two-time gold medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and a two-time gold medalist at the Asian Wrestling Championships.
Ozaki won the gold medal in the girls' freestyle 57kg event at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She defeated Anna Szél of Hungary in her gold medal match.
Ozaki won one of the bronze medals in the women's 62kg event at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway.[1] [2] She defeated Ilona Prokopevniuk of Ukraine in her bronze medal match.
Ozaki won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.[3] She also won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 World Junior Wrestling Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria.[4] In the same year, Ozaki won the gold medal in the 62kg event at the World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.[5] [6] She also won the gold medal in the 62kg event at the 2022 U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Pontevedra, Spain.[7]
Ozaki won the silver medal in the women's 62kg event at the 2022 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.[8] In the final, she lost against Mun Hyon-gyong of North Korea.[8]
She won the gold medal in the 65kg event at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.[9] [10] As a result, Ozaki earned a quota place for Japan for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.[11] She defeated Macey Kilty of the United States in her gold medal match.[9] [10]
In 2024, she won the gold medal in the women's 68kg event at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.[12] She won one of the bronze medals in the women's 68kg event at the 2024 Summer Olympics.[13] She defeated Blessing Oborududu of Nigeria in her bronze medal match.[13]
