, born, is a former Japanese actress, voice actress, singer, screenwriter, essayist, and TV personality affiliated with Actors Seven.Her husband is TV personality Keisuke Sagawa.She is best known for playing the title character in the Doraemon anime series that ran from 1979 to 2005 for 26 years.She is also best known as the voice of Monokuma, the main villain from the Danganronpa video-game series, from 2010 to 2016. She played him in the first three video games and in .
On May 13, 2015, her husband Keisuke Sagawa revealed on a radio show that she was living with dementia, putting any planned future work on indefinite hold.[1] This notably prevented her from reprising her role of Monokuma in future Danganronpa series projects, and in April 2016, it was announced that Tarako had taken over the role.[2] Tarako voiced Monokuma until her death in March 2024.[3]
As of 2016, Nobuyo currently lives in a retirement home.[4] After Keisuke Sagawa passed away on July 11th, 2017, her manager, known as Ms. Kobayashi, continues to visit and look after her.[5] While her dementia has progressed, it is said that she is in good health despite her condition and enjoys interacting with the other residents.[6]
