Nicolás Fonseca (born 19 October 1998) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Argentine Primera División club River Plate and the Uruguay national team.
Before the second half of 2021–22, Fonseca signed for Uruguayan side River Plate (Montevideo).[1] In the first week of 2024, he signed for River Plate of Argentina.[2]
Fonseca received his first call-up to the Uruguay national team in March 2024 for friendlies against Basque Country and Ivory Coast.[3] He made his debut on 23 March in a 1–1 draw against Basque Country.[4]
Nicolás is the son of former Uruguay international Daniel Fonseca.[5] His brother Matías is also a footballer.[6]
