The airline has two bases, one in Geraldton and the other in Broome.[4]
History
Nexus Airlines launched on 17 May 2023 announcing plans to commence regular public transport (RPT) services on 10 July 2023[5] with their newly acquired fleet of five de Havilland Canada Dash 8-Q400 turboprop aircraft leased from Nordic Aviation Capital.[6]
In a press release from the Minister for Transport, Rita Saffioti, the Western Australian Government confirmed a $4.05 million investment over four years to 2027 to support the airline to expand WA's Inter-Regional Flight Network (IRFN).
The first flight on the Geraldton-Karratha-Port Hedland-Broome route, part of the IRFN, took off on 10 July. The airline has exclusive rights to operate the route until June 2027.
Flights on the Broome-Kununurra-Darwin route commenced on 28 July, in competition with incumbent operator Airnorth. Whilst four flights a week were operated on this route, in May 2024 it increased to daily flights.[7]
On 2 April 2024 Nexus commenced RPT flights between Perth and Kalgoorlie twice daily one day per week.[8]
