New Holland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Douglas County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 77 at the 2020 census.[4]
A large share of the early settlers being natives of Holland caused the name to be selected.[5]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.1sqmi, all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 78 people, 39 households, and 21 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 669.6sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 44 housing units at an average density of 377.7sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.15% White and 3.85% Native American.
There were 39 households, out of which 17.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% were married couples living together, and 43.6% were non-families. 43.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 35.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 2.68.
