Nestor Villanueva Tan is the President and CEO of BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO), Philippines' largest bank in terms of total resources, loans, deposits and assets under management as of the end of 2015.

Early life and family

Nestor V. Tan was born on February 26, 1958, in Manila, Philippines.[1] He is the eldest son of Atty. Rufino Reyes Tan and Erlinda Angeles Villanueva. His brother, Lorenzo V. Tan, served as president of the Banker's Association of the Philippines (BAP). Another brother, Raul Tan, serves as vice president for engineering at Therma-Wave, Inc. in Fremont, California.[2]

Tan completed his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce at De La Salle University before pursuing his Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
