Namaka is a hamlet in southern Alberta, Canada within Wheatland County. It is located approximately south of Highway 1 and east of Calgary. Its name means "near the water" in Blackfoot. The first school was built in 1909.[1]

Demographics

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Namaka had a population of 72 living in 25 of its 26 total private dwellings, a change of from its 2016 population of 85. With a land area of, it had a population density of in 2021.[2]

As a designated place in the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Namaka had a population of 50 living in 21 of its 21 total private dwellings, a change of from its 2011 population of 71. With a land area of 0.13km2, it had a population density of in 2016.[3]
